The Driver is the showpiece in many golf bags. No other golf club is advertised so much by the manufacturers. But which models do the major brands want to impress with this season? Callaway, TaylorMade, Titleist, Wilson, Ping and Cobra are all starting the season with a wide range of the latest drivers. All manufacturers strive to take into account all handicaps and playing strengths as well as individual needs in the set-up. Many drivers have various adjustment options that allow them to be customized in many ways. But what suits whom? An overview of the current drivers from the major brands and who they are intended for.
Callaway is fully committed to customization with its Elyte drivers. There are four new Driver models and they are designed to cover the different levels of play so that everyone gets their money's worth. For strong golfers, Callaway has the Elyte Triple Diamond Driver, which is the sportiest model in the family and is designed for Performance. The most forgiving model, the Callaway Elyte X Driver, is available for those who do not always hit the clubface consistently in the middle. The Callaway Elyte Driver without the name suffix combines sporty demands with fault tolerance. The Elyte X is also available in a women's version with a lighter shaft and high flex. You can find more information about the new Callaway Elyte Driver here.
Four different models are designed to satisfy all types of players. In addition, each model, whether low-spin or max version, can be further customized to provide the greatest possible flexibility to satisfy all customers. There is also a further option for three of the four models, the Designer Series, which is intended to offer more visual variety than the black and gray carbon heads, which stand out in particular due to their striking lines. You can find more information about the new TaylorMade QI35 drivers here.
Titleist is entering the 2025 golf season with its GT Drivers. The Titleist GT1, 2, 3 and 4 models are aimed at different skill levels and requirements of golfers. The GT1 is the model for moderate swing speeds. A particularly light construction is designed to help generate club head speed and therefore hit further. Thanks to its high moment of inertia, the GT2 has a high fault tolerance and is an option for almost all handicap classes. The special feature of the Titleist GT3 Driver is its adjustable weight, which can be used to influence the ball flight. This allows tendencies in the swing to be balanced out. The GT4 is the low-spin variant and the sportiest of the four Titleist Drivers. The Tour-level Driver is an option for those who want full Performance and control.
Ping has three new Driver models on the market for the 2025 golf season. The most forgiving model in the series is aimed at most golfers. It has a 29 gram, three-position adjustable weight at the back of the club head, which can be used to influence the flight curve. The LST (Low Spin) Driver was developed for players with higher swing speeds. It puts less spin on the ball and allows more control over the flight curve than the other two versions of the Ping G440 Driver. The SFT (Straight Flight) Driver was specially developed for golfers who want to correct their Slice. It has a 23 gram weight that can be adjusted in two positions (Draw and Draw+). You can find more information about the new Ping G440-Driver here.
With the Dynapwr LS (Low Spin), Carbon and Max models, the sporting goods giant aims to cover all levels of play and offers different options for every level. Thanks to adjustable weights and six-way adjustable hosel in all models, numerous variants can be set to meet the requirements of the players. All three models offer possibilities to adjust the tendencies in the ball flight individually to the players. More information about the new Wilson Dynapwr-Drivers can be found here.
Cobra Golf presents the new DS-Adapt Driver series, consisting of four models: DS-Adapt LS, DS-Adapt X, DS-Adapt Max-K and DS-Adapt Max-D. The drivers are characterized by the innovative Futurefit33 Adjustable Hosel System, which enables 33 different loft and lie settings and thus offers unprecedented adaptability. The aim is to meet the needs of all swing speeds and handicaps, even if there are individual differences. This is why Cobra has launched its Driver series not only for men and women, but also in a junior version for children and teenagers. The club heads have different head shapes for the different requirements of the players, which are adapted to the needs of the respective target group. For example, the head of the forgiving DS-Adapt Max-K model is slightly larger, while the low-spin version has a sportier profile.
