The TGL has released the schedule for its third season. The season kicks off on December 27, with the final taking place in March. According to an ESPN report, Tiger Woods plans to compete in the season opener—it would be his first tournament since his accident in March.
The TGL released its schedule for the third season on October 27, and the opening weekend is tailored to Tiger Woods. On Sunday, December 27, the league will open at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, with a doubleheader. In the second match at 3 p.m. Eastern Time (9 p.m. CET), Woods’ Team Jupiter Links will face defending champion Los Angeles GC, live on ABC—a rematch of the 2026 final.
ESPN reporter Mark Schlabach reports, citing sources, that Woods is expected to compete in the opening match. What’s more, the 50-year-old could aim to play in several tournaments this season, Kevin Kisner revealed. The TGL opener would be his first competition since the car accident and his arrest in March. Woods himself has not yet commented publicly on a comeback.
The regular season consists of 14 matches, all at the SoFi Center. This will be followed by a play-in game for the first time, then the playoffs. Here are all the dates for the regular season (times in U.S. Eastern Time):

Woods and Jupiter Links have four regular-season matches ahead of them. After their opener against Los Angeles GC on Dec. 27, they’ll face Motor City GC (Jan. 10), Boston Common Golf (Jan. 12), and New York GC (Feb. 9). Like every team, Jupiter Links is fielding five players: Woods, Max Homa, Tom Kim, Akshay Bhatia, and newcomer Keith Mitchell.
Bhatia moves up from alternate to starter, while Mitchell joins the team and is expected to address the squad’s biggest weakness: Jupiter Links has ranked last in average driving distance in each of the past two seasons. For the past six PGA Tour seasons, Mitchell has consistently ranked among the top 25 in Strokes Gained Off-the-Tee and driving distance.
The league has tweaked the format. Each team now fields five Players instead of the previous four, with three competing per match. This gives the teams more depth in their lineups. The 14 regular-season matches are followed by a new play-in game: The teams ranked fourth and fifth in the SoFi Cup standings will compete for the final playoff spot. The winner joins the top three teams in the two semifinals, from which the two winners will face off in the SoFi Cup Final in a best-of-three series.
New to the league is Motor City GC, the league’s first expansion team. The roster, led by five-time major champion Brooks Koepka, includes Jackson Koivun, Jake Knapp, Si Woo Kim, and Bud Cauley. Motor City makes its debut on opening day against Boston Common Golf.
Of the original 24 players, 20 remain, along with three former alternates who are now full-time players and twelve pros making their TGL debut. Shane Lowry was traded to Boston Common Golf in the first trade in league history. Rory McIlroy is also returning and will lead Boston Common Golf, which opens against Motor City on December 27 at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPN.
The TGL is also aiming for greater reach: ABC will broadcast three matches instead of just one. “The 2027 schedule is designed to bring the TGL to more fans in more places,” explained Rufus Hack, president of golf at the league’s operator, TMRW Sports. Tickets go on general sale on November 4. In Germany, Sky remains a partner of the indoor league.
Woods’ most recent competitive appearance was the second final match on March 24 against Los Angeles GC, which Jupiter Links lost. Three days later, Woods rolled his SUV on Jupiter Island in Florida and was arrested; shortly thereafter , he announced on X that he was retiring indefinitely. On September 2, he pleaded “no contest” to reckless driving, and his driver’s license was revoked for five years.
The TGL opener wouldn’t be Woods’ only event at the turn of the year. Ironically, it was Kevin Kisner—now an analyst for NBC Golf—who outlined the schedule on the Barstool podcast “Fore Play” on October 22: “Come back, ease back into it at the Hero, play with Charlie in the father-son tournament, play a bit of the TGL, and prepare for Augusta.” The Hero World Challenge runs from December 3 to 6 in the Bahamas, and the PNC Championship takes place on December 19 and 20 in Orlando—where, according to Golfweek, the organizers are holding a spot open for him. The TGL opener takes place three days before Woods’ 51st birthday. Woods has not yet confirmed his participation in any of these events.
