Brooke Matthews not only secured her ticket to the season finale at"The Annika" LPGA tournament in Florida, but also the keys to a sports car. An unreal hole-in-one and a subsequent Eagle catapulted the US-American into the top 60 and into the driver's seat of a luxury lease car.
Here you can find the complete leaderboard of The Annika.
The going was tight for Brooke Matthews ahead of the final round of The Annika driven by Gainbridge at Pelican tournament in Naples, Florida. In 62nd place on the Race to the CME Globe points list, qualification for the eleven million US dollar season finale, the CME Group Tour Championship, was in jeopardy. Only the top 60 receive the right to compete. However, what Matthews achieved in the final holes of the tournament was a dramatic and historic feat, crowned by one of the Tour's most spectacular prizes.
A special incentive awaited the players on the Par-3, 12th hole at Pelican Golf Club: a hole-in-one meant winning a two-year lease on a Lamborghini Huracán. Matthews, who said she had set her sights on winning this very prize all week, made her dream come true.
Hitting a 9-iron from 143 yards (about 130 meters), the 27-year-old hit her tee shot. She watched as the ball bounced on the green and then rolled perfectly towards the flag - straight into the hole. Matthews' reaction after the coup shows how overwhelming the moment was. She is quoted as saying: "That was crazy. I just saw him jump up. I still can't believe it. I had a blackout. I can't wait to see it on video because I really don't remember it."

However, the ace was not just a luxurious stroke of luck, but a decisive sporting moment. The hole-in-one immediately lifted Matthews into the projected top 60 of the CME rankings. But the US-American immediately followed up: Just two holes later, on the Par-5 of 14, she chipped in from the Rough for Eagle.
This unreal series catapulted Matthews to the top of the leaderboard and cemented her qualification. Her final round of 65 - which included strokes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 on the scorecard - mirrored the rollercoaster ride of her day.
At the end of the tournament, Brooke Matthews finished in a tie for ninth place (T9) with an overall score of twelve under Par, securing the points she needed to take part in the season finale.
However, victory in the tournament went to Sweden's Linn Grant. The 26-year-old put in an outstanding performance, which she crowned with a final score of 65 strokes after 52 bogey-free holes. With 19 under Par and a three-shot lead over Jennifer Kupcho, Grant celebrated her second LPGA title. Tournament host Annika Sörenstam, one of Grant's compatriots, congratulated her on the 18th green with the appreciative words: "You made this course look easy. It's not easy." Grant is the first Swedish winner of this event, which was launched in 2020.

Thanks to her ninth place and the points she has collected, Brooke Matthews is now traveling to the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, in the best of company and with a new (leased) vehicle. The LPGA season finale will be played for the biggest check in women's golf: The winner will receive four million US dollars out of the total prize money of eleven million US dollars.
