The fourth match day of the German Golf League (DGL) presented by All4Golf is just in time for the start of summer with hot duels, plenty of sunshine and two aces. In the 1st Bundesliga North, Hubbelrath's men will secure their ticket to the Final Four early with a win in their home match. The ladies from GC St. Leon-Rot also won round four in Munich and can also plan ahead for the showdown at GC München-Riedhof.
There is an exciting three-way battle for two Final Four tickets in the 1st Bundesliga North women's division. The team from GC Hubbelrath made the most of their home advantage on the fourth matchday and won with a total of +21, just ahead of leaders Hamburg (+25) and Hösel (+31). "We won, but we need more stability in our game. It was much closer on the pitch than the table shows. We'll try everything, but it won't be easy, because Wannsee will certainly do everything they can to make it to the Final Four," said Hubbelrath's women's coach Ian Holloway. He has experienced a crazy season with his team, having to overcome two penultimate places at the start of the season to win rounds three and four. As Berlin-Wannsee finished second-last on the fourth matchday, the capital city side are level on points with Hubbelrath and one point behind Hamburg in second place. So anything is still possible in this three-way battle and Hamburg also know that the final matchday will decide the outcome. Last match day: July 19/20 at G&LC Berlin-Wannsee.

After a botched start to the season, the men's team from GC Hubbelrath went on a hot run and secured their third win in a row at home on the fourth DGL match day. In the 1st Bundesliga North, the team made the most of its home advantage and came out on top with a total of -17 ahead of Hösel (+5) and Berlin-Wannsee (+10). The Hubbelrath team has thus punched its ticket to the Final Four. GCH coach Alex Schmitt: "I would like to thank the entire team and the whole club. From our youth to our catering, the secretariat, our members and the Greenkeepers - everyone was so heavily involved in this home match day. I think we had a good game plan and are happy that we were able to qualify for the Final Four ahead of schedule. We'll see the last matchday of the season as preparation, start with the best possible team and go all the way." The best shot of the fourth match day: Yannik Emmert (Hamburg GC Falkenstein) celebrated a hole-in-one on hole seven in the foursome on Saturday. Although his team once again only finished in penultimate place, there is still a mini-chance of reaching the Final Four on the last matchday, just like for Berlin-Wannsee. GC Hannover finished last again in Hubbelrath and has been relegated. Last match day: July 19/20 at G&LC Berlin-Wannsee.

The ladies from GC St. Leon-Rot can book their rooms for the Final Four. On the fourth DGL match day of the 1st Bundesliga Süd at Munich GC, coach Sebastian Buhl's team secured their fourth victory with a total of -5 ahead of their permanent rivals Stuttgart (+11) and Frankfurt GC (+21). "The objective was clearly to pick up another five points and thus secure our place in the Final Four early on. So we are right on target. We will use the time up to the fifth match day to make clever training and regeneration plans, as the competition load is very high over the next few weeks," said Buhl. As on the previous DGL match days, the ladies from Munich GC finished in fourth place in round four and the team from GC Am Reichswald in last place. For the women from Nuremberg, the home game in four weeks will be a kind of farewell performance from the 1st Bundesliga, because: After finishing last again in Munich, it is as good as certain that the 1st Bundesliga adventure was only a short one. A small consolation: Reichswald player Isabella Rexroth shot a hole-in-one in the foursome on Saturday on hole C3 of the Munich GC. It was the first ace of her career. Last match day: July 19/20 at GC Am Reichswald.

The men's 1st Bundesliga South can no longer do without drama. The 4th match day of the German Golf League presented by All4Golf was not only hot in terms of temperature. On the course in the south of the Bavarian capital, the home side made the most of their home advantage in the singles on Sunday and got so close to GC St. Leon-Rot that both clubs ended up tied at the top at -20. The play-off had to take place again, with a happy ending for Munich: MGC had the lowest score of the day with Leon Heeder's 65 (-7). "I'm thrilled with how my team performed today. We had made some wrong decisions and simple mistakes in the singles and foursomes the day before in much stronger winds. So I told the boys what I didn't want to see again. They played really good golf and absolutely deserved this victory. Everyone can be proud of that. Now we also want to win in Mannheim in four weeks' time," said an overjoyed MGC coach Arne Dickel. Third place in Munich went to Frankfurt (+9) ahead of promoted Augsburg (+30). GC Mannheim-Viernheim (+51) failed to achieve the miracle they had hoped for. Coach Michael Wolf's team is as good as relegated after another last place finish. Last match day: July 19/20 at GC Mannheim-Viernheim.
