On the par-70 course in East Lothian, numerous world-class players engaged in a thrilling duel for the title. Kim started the final round as a co-leader and took the sole lead on the back nine. With his triumph, Tom Kim made history: He is the first South Korean player to win the Scottish Open and only the fourth non-American to win four PGA Tour titles before the age of 25—following Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, and Hideki Matsuyama. The victory also qualifies Kim for the 2027 Masters Tournament. Johnny Keefer, Michael Thorbjornsen, and Victor Perez secured spots in the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale as the three highest-ranked players who had not yet qualified.
After two difficult years, during which Kim had at times fallen out of the top 150 in the world rankings, this triumph marks a significant turning point in his career.
