DP World Tour: Lawrence Completes European Masters Hat Trick

Thriston Lawrence won the 2026 DP World Tour European Masters in Crans-Montana. The South African prevailed over Paul Casey on the fourth playoff hole after both finished at 18 under Par and a total of 262 strokes after 72 holes. According to the official results, the winner receives 548,226.41 euros in prize money, while Casey, as the runner-up, receives 354,734.74 euros.

Thriston Lawrence Wins the European Masters in a Playoff

Lawrence carded a bogey-free 62—eight under Par—in the final round. This allowed him to make up a six-stroke deficit to Paul Casey, who had led after three rounds, and set the mark at 18 under Par in the clubhouse.

Casey carded a 68 and, after a Bogey on the 18th hole, also finished at 262 strokes. In the ensuing playoff, both players still had a chance to win after the first three extra holes. On the fourth playoff hole, Lawrence finally sank a long birdie putt to clinch the tournament.

For Lawrence, it was his third victory at the European Masters, following his wins in 2022 and 2025. With this win, he tied Seve Ballesteros: Both are the only players to have won this historic tournament three times since 1972. Overall, Lawrence celebrated his sixth title on the Tour.

2026 European Masters: Results from Crans-Montana

The final round was held on September 6, 2026, at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans-Montana. Behind Lawrence and Casey, Harry Hall took third place with a score of 17 under Par and 263 strokes. Tied for fourth place were Bernd Wiesberger, Angel Hidalgo, Francesco Laporta, Angel Ayora, and Eugenio Chacarra, each at 16 under Par.

Paul Casey thus missed out on his first victory since the 2021 Dubai Desert Classic. According to multiple reports, the Englishman announced that he would donate his entire prize money from the European Masters to the Fondation Beloved and to those affected by the New Year’s Eve fire in Crans-Montana. Casey lives in Switzerland and considers the tournament a “home game.”
