Manuel Elvira tied Spaun with an Eagle on the 17th hole. However, adouble Bogey on the final hole cost the Spaniard a potential victory and sole second place. Elvira finished the tournament tied for second at 15 under Par alongside Aaron Rai, Adam Scott, and Rory McIlroy.

For Spaun, it was his second victory on the DP World Tour and his first title at a Rolex Series event. He is also only the third American, after Arnold Palmer and Billy Horschel, to win the BMW PGA Championship. More than 120,000 spectators watched the tournament at the Wentworth Club.

As the official charity, the tournament once again supported the Golf Foundation and its “Unleash Your Drive” program, which aims to promote mental strength and resilience in schools across England.
