Augusta National has its first magical moment in 2026. While the golfing world is eagerly awaiting the leaderboard, Ireland's Shane Lowry caused the sensation of the tournament so far: he made the first hole-in-one at the US Masters 2026.

On Saturday, Lowry hit the famous 6th hole (Juniper) directly with his tee shot. The Par-3 is known for its treacherous, elevated green, but Lowry was not deterred.
From a distance of 180 yards - which equates to around 165 meters - the 2019 Open champion reached for his Iron 7. The ball landed a few meters in front of the hole and then rolled straight out and fell to the thunderous cheers of the spectators. Lowry started Moving Day at Augusta National Golf Club in a tie for third place on a total of 5 under Par. With the hole-in-one, he improved his overall score to eight under par at the time. He had already managed a Birdie on hole 2 (Par-5).
