Stefano Mazzoli won the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship, claiming his first title on the PGA Tour. The 29-year-old Italian prevailed at the Corales Golf Course at the Puntacana Resort & Club in the Dominican Republic with a final round of 66, taking home $720,000 of the $4 million total prize purse. The tournament was held concurrently with the 2026 Open Championship and was co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.

Mazzoli’s Comeback Decides the Race for the Prize Money
After 54 holes, Mazzoli was still four strokes behind the English 54-hole leader, Todd Clements. But Clements shot three over Par on the final six holes—including a double bogey on the 13th and a Bogey on the 16th—and relinquished the lead. Mazzoli seized the opportunity: With a 24-foot Birdie putt on the final par-4 18th hole, he finished at 20 under par (268) and won by one stroke. Clements (71, -19) and Gordon Sargent (67, -19) tied for second place and each earned $356,000.
For Mazzoli, this is his first victory as a professional since winning three titles on the Alps Tour in 2022. As a member of the DP World Tour—and a rookie on that Tour—he is the first player to win exclusively on the DP World Tour among the ten winners of this co-sanctioned series. Since he was not a PGA Tour member at the time of the tournament, he will not receive any FedExCup points, but he has secured playing privileges on the PGA Tour through the end of 2027 and a jump from world ranking No. 424 toward the top 200.

More highlights regarding the prize money
Will Gordon and Benjamin James tied for fourth place at -18 and each earned $180,000. This was only James’ fifth start as a professional. Blade Brown, a 19-year-old competing on the Tour as a Special Temporary Member, finished tied for 11th place and secured $89,000. Defending champion Garrick Higgo finished tied for 48th and took home $9,651.43. Gordon Sargent’s tie for second place is his best result in his 25 professional starts on the PGA Tour to date.
The Corales Puntacana Championship has been a co-sanctioned event of the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour for five consecutive seasons and is one of the last two so-called “Additional Events” of the season. Mazzoli is the next first-time winner in Punta Cana, following Matt Wallace (2023).
