The prize money for the Women's PGA Championship reached new heights in 2026: With a total purse of $13 million, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in Chaska, Minnesota, eclipsed the previous record in women’s golf once and for all—it is the highest prize money ever awarded at a women’s major.
Winner Haeran Ryu secured the top prize of $1,950,000 with her first major title. The South Korean, who had trailed the leader by ten strokes after the opening round, played the best golf of the entire field over the remaining three rounds and ultimately prevailed by two strokes over her compatriot Ina Yoon, who received $1,169,107 for her second-place finish.

The 2026 Women’s PGA Championship prize money reflects the rapid economic growth of women’s golf. By comparison, just a few years ago, the total prize money was a fraction of the current amount. The fact that even players outside the top 20 are now earning five-figure prize money sends a clear signal to the entire industry.
Particularly noteworthy: Dewi Weber, ranked 210th in the world before the tournament, took home $752,090 for her tie for third place—more than many players have earned in their entire careers to date. Nelly Korda, despite a disappointing tournament by her standards, still earned $275,234 as a member of the four-player group tied for eighth place.
