As of October 20, 2026, the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) remains unchanged at the top: Scottie Scheffler continues to lead ahead of Rory McIlroy. The most notable move in the top 10 comes from Chris Gotterup, who moved up from eighth to sixth place. The biggest jump in the top 200 was made by Japan’s Yusaku Hosono, who climbed from 263rd to 188th place.
There were no tournaments on the PGA Tour last week. On the DP World Tour, Eugenio Chacarra claimed victory at the DP World India Championship (October 15–18) in New Delhi. The Spaniard moved up from No. 50 to No. 39—an improvement of 11 spots and the biggest jump among the tournament winners. With his third victory of the season, he also took the lead in the Race to Dubai, the DP World Tour’s season-long points race.

Yusaku Hosono from Japan made by far the biggest jump in the Top 200: The Japanese player climbed from No. 263 to No. 188, gaining 75 positions. Angel Hidalgo of Spain and Adrian Meronk of Poland share second place, each gaining 40 positions. Hidalgo moved up from No. 196 to No. 156, while Meronk moved up from No. 150 to No. 110. Meronk had won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on October 4.
On the other hand, Richard Sterne of South Africa drops eight spots, falling from No. 186 to No. 194. Davis Riley of the U.S. slips from No. 139 to No. 146, losing seven spots. Tied for third place, each having dropped six spots, are Mackenzie Hughes of Canada (from No. 173 to No. 179), Elvis Smylie of Australia (from No. 179 to No. 185), Brian Campbell from the U.S. (from No. 184 to No. 190), and Tony Finau, also from the U.S. (from No. 165 to No. 171).
On the PGA Tour, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship is scheduled for October 22–25 at Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda. One week later, the Vidanta World Mexico Open will take place at Vidanta Vallarta, Mexico, from October 29 to November 1.
On the DP World Tour, the Genesis Championship will be held next week at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Korea, from October 22 to 25. The next major event is the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links, from November 5 to 8. With 9,000 points, it is one of the highest-scoring tournaments on the calendar and could once again shake up the Tour’s season standings. The Genesis Championship is the last regular-season tournament before the playoffs begin with the Abu Dhabi Championship, culminating in the DP World Tour Championship.
The world golf rankings show stability at the top, with movement coming from the second tier. Gotterup is the only top-10 player to improve his ranking, while Hosono, Hidalgo, and Meronk have made the biggest jumps in the top 200. It remains to be seen whether these positions will hold until the fall tournaments. The next edition will follow next week.
