On the PGA Tour, Austin Smotherman won the Bank of Utah Championship in Ivins, Utah, which was held October 1–4. In the current World Golf Rankings, the American is ranked 67th. He improved by 54 spots compared to the previous week; he had previously been ranked 121st.
On the DP World Tour, Adrian Meronk prevailed at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. The tournament took place from October 1–4 on the links courses around St. Andrews in Scotland. The Polish player is now ranked 145th, a rise of 382 spots from the previous week, when he was ranked 527th. Both winners are thus among the most notable climbers in this week’s rankings.
The three biggest climbers in the current Top 200 are Adrian Meronk (No. 145, +382), Niklas Nørgaard Møller (No. 166, +89), and Trace Crowe (No. 176, +85). Meronk is also the winner of the DP World Tour tournament in Scotland. Nørgaard Møller and Crowe have also made significant gains. Norway’s Nørgaard Møller tied for second at the DP World Tour’s Links Golf tournament, while the American finished third on the PGA Tour.
The biggest drops were recorded by Patrick Rodgers (No. 125, down 18 spots), Richard Sterne (No. 180, down 13 spots), and Elvis Smylie (No. 175, down 12 spots). There’s also a tie outside the “Movers” list: Shaun Norris and Thriston Lawrence are tied for 117th place.
On the PGA Tour, the Baycurrent Classic begins on October 8 in Kanagawa, Japan. Play continues through October 11 at the Yokohama Country Club. At the same time, the DP World Tour will feature the Open de España presented by Madrid. The tournament will be held from October 8 to 11 at the Club de Campo Villa de Madrid in the Spanish capital.

As a result, the world golf rankings will be focused on two tournaments taking place simultaneously in the coming days. The top 10 enters the new week with a stable lead, while Meronk’s rise and the shifts in the middle of the pack are shaping the current ranking cycle. New results from Japan and Madrid could once again lead to changes in the next weekly rankings.
