The top of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) remains unchanged this week: Scottie Scheffler leads ahead of Rory McIlroy and Cameron Young. The focus of this week’s recap is on Matt Fitzpatrick, who won the FedEx Open de France and holds onto his fourth-place ranking. Angel Hidalgo makes the biggest jump within the top 200, improving significantly and entering this group for the first time.
None of the top ten players have changed their position from the previous week. As a result, there are neither any new entrants nor any players dropping out of the top 10. Scheffler remains at the top, and McIlroy holds onto second place. The order behind them also remains unchanged: Young at three, Fitzpatrick at four, and Clark at five. There are no tied positions in the top 10. The top of the World Golf Rankings is thus particularly stable, even though there are major shifts further down the field.

On the DP World Tour, Matt Fitzpatrick claimed the title at the FedEx Open de France. The tournament was held in Guyancourt from September 24–27. The Englishman is currently ranked fourth in the world and maintained that position in this week’s rankings.
On the PGA Tour, there were no regular individual tournaments with an individual OWGR winner on the schedule this week. The Presidents Cup in Medinah took place from September 24–27 as a team competition. Over the past 14 days, the Biltmore Championship in Asheville concluded from September 17 to 20: Jacob Bridgeman won the event and is currently ranked 20th, unchanged from the previous week.

Angel Hidalgo is the standout climber: The Spaniard jumped from No. 318 to No. 194, gaining 124 spots. This brings him back into the top 200. He is followed by Joe Dean and Ewen Ferguson, who each moved up 11 spots. Dean climbs to No. 139, and Ferguson to No. 171.
Among those who dropped in the rankings, Shaun Norris lost nine spots, falling from No. 102 to No. 111. Jesper Svensson and Elvis Smylie each dropped four positions; Svensson is now ranked 193rd, and Smylie 163rd. There are tied rankings at No. 152 for Mikael Lindberg and Zachary Bauchou, as well as at No. 171 for Victor Perez and Ewen Ferguson.
Both Tours resume their schedules on October 1. On the PGA Tour, the Bank of Utah Championship begins in Ivins, Utah; the final round is scheduled for October 4. At the same time, the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship kicks off on the DP World Tour in Scotland. Play will also continue through October 4 at the courses of Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, and St. Andrews.
The weekly update of the World Golf Rankings shows no changes at the top, but features a notable climber in the broader field and an English tournament victory in France. With two tournaments starting on Thursday, next week offers new opportunities for ranking gains and developments in the race behind Scheffler.
