2026 Solheim Cup: U.S. and European squads are taking shape

There are still eight weeks to go until the U.S. women’s qualification deadline—and so far, Nelly Korda is the only U.S. player to have secured her spot in the 2026 Solheim Cup, while Charley Hull leads the European LET standings.

U.S. Captain Angela Stanford and European Captain Anna Nordqvist are working with clearly defined selection criteria: For the U.S., the top seven in the LPGA Tour points standings qualify, plus two from the world rankings and three captain’s picks; for Europe, the top two in the LET points standings, plus six from the Rolex Women’s World Ranking and four captain’s picks.

Solheim Cup 2026: The Deadline and Open Spots

The U.S. automatic selection window closes after the CPKC Women’s Open, which will be held August 20–23, 2026. Until then, the points race remains wide open across the remainder of the summer schedule. Korda’s status as the only guaranteed U.S. participant so far underscores just how early in the LPGA summer we still are relative to the final roster. Hull’s lead on the LET gives her a strong case for an automatic European spot—though the majority of European spots are determined by the Rolex Rankings.

Outlook

The August deadline means that at least six more major tournaments will shape both squads before the captains make their picks. Until then, one question remains above all: which players will position themselves alongside Korda and Hull.
