Højgaard completes the sextet: Europe's Ryder Cup qualifiers
Rasmus Højgaard secures the last automatic place in Team Europe. These are the six players who have qualified for the Ryder Cup.
The six automatic qualifiers for the European team in the 2025 Ryder Cup have been decided. Rasmus Højgaard is the last player to secure the coveted place in Luke Donald's team, completing the squad of already qualified stars.
Rasmus Hojgaard makes his debut at the 2025 Ryder Cup
The 24-year-old Dane, who has won five titles on the DP World Tour, secured his Ryder Cup debut thanks to his tied 13th place at the final qualifying tournament, the Betfred British Masters. Højgaard's season has been marked by impressive successes, including a victory over Rory McIlroy at the 2024 Irish Open and second places at the DP World Tour Championship and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour. His consistency with ten top-20 finishes worldwide made him a deserving debutant.
Captain Luke Donald was delighted with the new addition: "The finalization of the automatic qualifiers is an important milestone on the road to the Ryder Cup. Rookies can bring an energy and excitement that inspires even the most experienced players." Donald added that he had no doubt that Højgaard "will be full of enthusiasm for the challenge of Bethpage Black."

The automatic qualifiers from Team Europe
With Højgaard's qualification, it is clear that Europe will send a balanced team of experienced players and promising debutants to New York.
- Rory McIlroy was the first player to secure his participation. The world number two will be taking part in the Ryder Cup for the eighth time in a row and is the most experienced of the six qualifiers.
- Justin Rose secured his seventh appearance by winning a play-off at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.
- Tommy Fleetwood has qualified for his fourth consecutive appearance, backed up by ten top ten finishes worldwide.
- Robert MacIntyre, who went unbeaten at the 2023 Ryder Cup, will be competing for the second time. He underlined his qualification with second places at the US Open and the BMW Championship.
- Tyrrell Hatton will be celebrating his fourth Ryder Cup appearance after winning two tournaments in the qualifying period.
Captain Donald will complete his twelve-man team on September 1st with the announcement of his six captain's picks.
