The 2025 PGA Tour Champions season ended with a historic bang at the weekend: for the first time since his debut on the Over 50s Tour in 2007, golf legend Bernhard Langer finished a year without a tournament win. This marks the end of one of the most remarkable series in the history of professional golf.
The 68-year-old German, who has dominated the Tour as a record chaser since his move, missed his last chance to win a title this season at the final Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix. The defeat ends Langer's unprecedented winning streak of 18 consecutive seasons with at least one success. On the regular PGA Tour, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer held the record at 17 - a mark Langer had surpassed in senior golf.
| Statistics | Value |
|---|---|
| Tour debut | 2007 |
| Tournament wins | 47 (record) |
| Second places | 43 |
| Third places | 29 |
| Top 5 placings | 156 |
| Top 10 placements | 237 |
| Official prize money | $38,223,772 (record) |
Despite the lack of a winning year, Langer also underlined his exceptional position in the 2025 season. He underplayed his age of 68 eleven times last season, including twice at the Charles Schwab Cup Championship itself, bringing his career record to an impressive 35 rounds lower than his age.
The record-breaking champion's statistics continue to read incredible even without his 48th title: he remains the undisputed leader with 47 career victories and tops the PGA Tour Champions money list with over 38 million US dollars. His consistency is legendary: Langer has achieved 237 top-10 finishes and 156 top-5 results in his career, which means that he has finished in the top ten in an incredible 63 percent of his starts. Added to this are 43 second places and eleven senior major titles.
Langer, who had to undergo Achilles tendon surgery at the start of 2024 and missed seven tournaments, was optimistic about the volatility of golf before the season: "You never know in golf. You find something very small and suddenly we remember how well we can play. The body remembers when something clicks and feels good." Langer didn't find that click for victory in 2025, but he will continue his hunt for title number 48 in 2026.

While Bernhard Langer dominated the headlines surrounding his ended streak, Stewart Cink (52) crowned himself king of the 2025 season. Cink triumphed in spectacular fashion, winning both the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and the Charles Schwab Cup as the overall winner of the season standings.
Here you can find the complete leaderboard of the Charles Schwab Cup Championship.
The former Open Championship winner played a round of 67 at Phoenix Country Club on Sunday to secure a two-stroke lead over Steven Alker with a total of 20-under Par. Cink is only the fourth player in the history of the PGA Tour Champions to achieve this prestigious double success - the championship and the season's trophy in one year. He joins an exclusive circle alongside Tom Watson, Tom Lehman and Kevin Sutherland.
After his third win of the season, Cink was overjoyed at achieving his ultimate goal: "It feels really, really good. It's also something very unusual, because normally in golf you make goals and just cross them off because you haven't achieved them. ... The Charles Schwab Cup season total is really the most important thing on the agenda. So, to have set it in my mind and talked about it a lot and then to achieve it was a chance to maybe crumble out there. It feels great."
