The recently concluded PGA Tour season has once again underlined the financial dominance of world number one Scottie Scheffler. With earnings of 26,579,550 US dollars, the 29-year-old secured the top spot in the money rankings for the fourth time in a row, consolidating his position as one of the most successful golfers of his generation.
Scheffler's season was characterized by remarkable consistency and the ability to win the most important tournaments. He recorded a total of five victories, including the two majors, the PGA Championship and the Open Championship. He also triumphed at the Memorial Tournament, the BMW Championship and THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. With these successes, Scheffler has increased his career earnings to almost 98.4 million US dollars, putting him in third place in the PGA Tour's all-time money list, behind only Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. It is remarkable that he achieved this sum, even though his earnings this season were almost three million US dollars less than he earned in 2024.
Another protagonist of the season was Englishman Tommy Fleetwood, who jumped to second place in the money rankings thanks to a dramatic victory at the Tour Championship. With his first official PGA Tour victory, he secured the prize money of ten million US dollars, more than doubling his season earnings to over 18.4 million US dollars. This is also due to a new Tour rule that now counts Tour Championship earnings as official prize money.

The money ranking of the top 20 makes it clear that you don't necessarily have to win to achieve high earnings. Players like Patrick Cantlay, Robert MacIntyre and Collin Morikawa made it into the top group without winning a tournament. Their top placings in tournaments with large prize money, such as the signature events, show that consistent performance and top placings can also be financially lucrative.
In total, the PGA Tour handed out checks to 237 golfers last season, with average earnings of around 2.1 million US dollars. Remarkably, 115 players exceeded the million mark.
The German players also enjoyed success during the season. Stephan Jäger finished the season in 61st place with earnings of 2,531,801 US dollars, while Matti Schmid finished in 72nd place and earned 1,963,817 US dollars. Both players were thus able to establish themselves firmly in the upper midfield of the Tour.
