Topgolf and TMRW Sports are bringing the competition holes from Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL indoor league and the WTGL women’s league to their facilities—six days before the WTGL, featuring LPGA stars, kicks off its first season.
Topgolf and TMRW Sports announced a multi-year partnership on Monday, November 2, 2026. TGL presented by SoFi and the women’s league WTGL will thus be coming to Topgolf facilities and Toptracer ranges; according to the partners, Toptracer is in use at more than 1,450 locations in 38 countries. It has not yet been confirmed whether all of these locations will offer the holes. For the first time, guests at Topgolf will be able to play the specially designed competition holes on which the pros in both leagues compete. In addition, there will be watch parties on match nights and sweepstakes.
The first concrete offering is the Topgolf WTGL Challenge: Guests play the WTGL holes, and an accompanying sweepstakes runs from November 8 through December 23. Three randomly selected participants will each receive a $500 gift card for official WTGL merchandise. At select locations, Topgolf will host watch parties on match nights, featuring appearances by league-affiliated personalities and discounts on play. VIP prizes include tickets right on the green, access to the VIP Clubhouse, evenings in a suite, and behind-the-scenes tours at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
The entire event is being promoted via Topgolf Media Networks—that is, via email, social media, and on more than 28,000 digital screens across the U.S. Technically, the two sides are already connected: Toptracer provides the ball-tracking technology used in TGL and WTGL television broadcasts. In its press release, Topgolf describes the technology as the most widely used of its kind. The partnership also aligns with the company’s goal of attracting ten million new, long-term active golfers by 2030.
David McKillips, CEO of Topgolf and Toptracer, described the leagues in the joint press release as drivers of a shift in how golf is consumed: “TGL and WTGL are redefining how modern fans experience golf.” For Topgolf, the leagues provide new content for its own facilities; for TMRW Sports, they offer reach beyond television.
Rufus Hack, President of Golf at TMRW Sports, summed up the essence of the agreement in a single sentence: “Fans won’t just watch our leagues—they’ll play in them themselves.” The top two players in the world rankings are still not part of the leagues. Scottie Scheffler has not joined the TGL, and Nelly Korda has not joined the WTGL—greenfeed.news had already reported on Korda’s absence back in September, when the five teams and 25 players for the WTGL were finalized.
The announcement comes in the week leading up to the women’s league’s debut. On Sunday, November 8, Los Angeles GC and New York GC will kick off the first season at 3 p.m. Eastern Time on ESPN. For New York, Lydia Ko and Danielle Kang are the focal points; for Los Angeles, it’s Michelle Wie West. In addition to these two teams, the league includes Atlanta Drive GC, Boston Common Golf, and Motor City GC, with 25 LPGA players competing. The teams are backed by, among others, Arthur M. Blank, the Fenway Sports Group, Alexis Ohanian, Steve Cohen, Michael and Peter Hamp, and Kevin Kelleher; the lead investment partner is Trybe Ventures, co-founded by Alex Morgan.
Each match lasts two hours, with three players from each team competing against one another. Ten regular-season matches are followed by semifinals featuring four teams and a best-of-three final. The venue is the SoFi Center, which seats 1,500. We’ve summarized all the dates and the format in detail in our overview of the WTGL schedule.
When the schedule was unveiled in September, Hack described the inaugural season as “full of thrilling matchups and team stories.” John Suchenski, Senior Director of Programming and Rights Acquisition at ESPN, called the inaugural season “an exciting new chapter for women’s golf.” Brian Lawlor, President of Scripps Sports, highlighted the “innovative team format, the top players, and the prime-time broadcast slot.”
The partnership is the latest development in a fast-paced fall. On January 6, 2026, the LPGA and TMRW Sports announced the founding of the WTGL. On September 2, the media deal with ESPN and Scripps (ION) was announced, followed by the schedule on September 16. On October 1, ESPN and TMRW Sports extended their multi-year rights partnership for the TGL in the U.S., and on October 27, the league released the 2027 schedule—details on this can be found in our report on the TGL’s season opener on December 27.
The third TGL season will feature 14 regular-season matches. A new addition is a play-in match to determine the fourth playoff team; the top three teams in the SoFi Cup standings qualify directly. This will be followed by two semifinals and a final in a best-of-three format. “The 2027 schedule is designed to bring the TGL to more fans in more places,” Hack said during the calendar’s unveiling.
Following the season opener on November 8—which also marks the start of the Topgolf WTGL Challenge—Motor City GC will face Los Angeles GC on November 10, broadcast on ION. On November 29, ABC will air a doubleheader. The semifinals are scheduled for December 20 and 21, and the finals for December 22 and 23—the Topgolf contest also ends on December 23.
Four days later, the men’s competition begins. On Sunday, December 27, a doubleheader at the SoFi Center kicks off the TGL season: At 1 p.m. Eastern Time, Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf will face Motor City Golf Club on ESPN, with Brooks Koepka making his league debut alongside newcomer Jackson Koivun. At 3 p.m., Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links will take on defending champion Los Angeles GC on ABC.
