While there was previously only one Topgolf location in continental Europe in Oberhausen, Germany, the second location was opened by European franchise partner Greenreb in Brunn, just outside Vienna, at the end of January - with more to follow soon. Anyone entering the new location - wonderfully situated next to a swimming lake with a wake park - will find the tried-and-tested, entertainment-oriented offering. The fact that the parking lot in Vienna, unlike at most Topgolf locations worldwide, is not directly in front of the entrance is due to official regulations. On the way to the entrance, you can take a first look at the tees, which extend over three floors. Topgolf's range of games is unchanged, the bays can be hired by the hour, golf clubs and balls are part of the basic equipment and, of course, food and drinks are also available at the bays. Anyone familiar with the German Topgolf offer will notice a few small but subtle differences. The furniture and the color concept have been adapted to current trends - we particularly liked the new sofa seating area to the left of the reception, which is perfect for waiting for companions. The pro store has also been redesigned and now offers a product range that is much more geared towards the tastes of younger people. As people in Europe obviously don't like sitting in a row at a bar counter, tables for two and four with high seats have been installed at right angles to it on the first floor. This is a great way to have a chat.
When the weather is fine, the outdoor terrace on the second floor facing the lake is likely to be a popular spot away from the bays. On this floor, guests will also find a huge bar in the middle. On the second floor, on the other hand, the bar still visible in Oberhausen has been significantly reduced in size and is no longer accessible to guests; instead, two very attractive conference rooms await guests there, which can also be combined if required. If you want to cater for even larger groups at Topgolf, you can use the large conference and congress room on the same floor - with direct access to the outdoor bays, of course. Topgolf thus underlines once again that it not only appeals to small groups via the bays and catering, but is also ideally equipped for corporate events or private parties. For business customers in particular - whether as an internal team-building measure or as an event for customers - the location offers the best conditions, as there is a hotel directly at the other end of the Topgolf range where guests can stay overnight. Vienna is also breaking new ground in terms of customer service. In addition to the serving robots for drinks already established in Oberhausen, food delivery by robot is currently being tested. Guests will hardly find any bottles at the bars - and the transportation of full and empty bottles through the building has been reduced to a minimum. The reason: a new, central dispensing system supplies the bars with the necessary ingredients from a cold room. For mixed drinks such as the popular Aperol Spritz, the recipe is stored in the system so that the drinks are always freshly mixed to a consistent quality after the order is received.
Initial impressions at the new location show that the offer has been very well received. As in Oberhausen, young people with no experience of golf in particular appreciate the offer - the best conditions for the Austrian golf scene to get even more people, especially younger people, interested in classic golf in the future.
