Since its introduction as an insider tip for Tour professionals, the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash has had a stellar career. What originally began as a specialized "Custom Performance Option" (CPO) is now an indispensable pillar in the market leader's range. For 2026, Titleist is now presenting the next generation of the ball, which promises one thing above all: to exploit the characteristic strengths of the model even more radically.
The new model is the result of a four-year research and development process. Titleist 's philosophy is clearly defined: "We don't bring a product onto the market just because it's new," emphasizes Mike Madson, Senior Vice President Golf Ball R&D at Titleist. "It has to be better than its predecessor - and it has to be validated by players."
With the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash, "better" means above all faster and more consistent. The ball is aimed at a specific group of golfers who need a high launch angle but at the same time struggle with too much spin in the long game.
To measurably increase performance, Titleist has reworked every single layer of the ball. The construction of the 2026 generation is based on four central technological pillars:

Interestingly, the path to the finished product was not without obstacles. In April 2023, a prototype was already close to being ready for the market, but it failed tests on the PGA Tour. Players complained that the spin was too high with short irons.
"We were moving in the direction of our production Pro V1x and moving away from the actual DNA of the Left Dash," explains Fordie Pitts, Director of Tour Research and Validation. Titleist decided to take a radical step: the team went back to the drawing board to ensure that the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash retained its uniqueness as a low-spin option with a firm feel.
Although the ball has been validated on Tour with wins at the 2024 U.S. Open (Pinehurst No. 2), it is not a pro-only product. According to Titleist data, the ball is the ideal recommendation for around 6 to 8 % of all fittings.
Compared to the classic Pro V1 and Pro V1x, the Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash offers a clear differentiation:
| Feature | Pro V1 | Pro V1x | Pro V1x Left Dash |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flight curve | Medium High | High | High |
| Spin (long game) | Low | Higher | Extremely Low |
| Spin (Iron) | Low | medium | Very low |
| Spin (Green) | Very high | Very high | High |
| Feel | Very soft | soft | firm |
| Construction | 3-Piece | 4-piece | 4-piece |
The new Titleist Pro V1x Left Dash - recognizable by the distinctive "-Pro V1x" side marker - will be available at golf retailers worldwide from Wednesday, January 21, 2026. The recommended retail price is €64.99 per dozen.
So if you are looking for maximum length without sacrificing a high ball launch, you should definitely consider this specialist for your next fitting.
