Titleist Vokey Wedges SM11: The evolution of the center of gravity
The heart of the technological evolution of the Titleist Vokey Wedges lies in the fine-tuning of the center of gravity (CG). While this varied slightly in previous generations depending on the grind, it is now identical for all options within a loft in the SM11 series. This ensures a consistent ball flight and a uniform feel and greatly simplifies the fitting process
In addition, Titleist relies on a progressive center of gravity across the entire set:
- Low lofts (44°-52°): A low, centered CG provides a harmonious transition to the Iron set and reduces the tendency to draw on full shots.
- Medium lofts (54°-56°): The center of gravity position lies between the extremes for maximum versatility.
- High lofts (58°-60°): Here the center of gravity has been placed higher and closer to the heel to slightly flatten the ball flight and support a neutral clubface position at impact.

Maximum stopping power: The new spin technology of the SM11
To optimize spin performance, the Titleist Vokey Wedges SM11 have a 5% increase in groove volume compared to its predecessor. A new face structure aligned to the leading edge also increases friction and extends ball contact.
The grooves undergo a special high-frequency heat treatment to ensure that the "bite" of the wedges is maintained for a long time. According to Titleist, this doubles the durability of the groove edges compared to untreated models - a decisive factor for consistently high spin.
