In this first part of the interview, Freddy Schott lays his cards on the table. He relentlessly analyzes his condition as an aspiring professional at the time. After celebrating his first professional title on the Challenge Tour (now the Hotel Planner Tour) in 2022, he faces the major hurdle of establishing himself permanently on the European Tour (DP World Tour). In conversation with Florian Fritsch, he talks about the finer points of the game, the consistency required at this level and the necessary balance between training and tournament stress. Freddy also shares his personal strategies on how he deals with the fluctuations in the form curve - a deep insight into the emotional world of a winner who has to prove himself anew every day.
There is an impressive story behind the young professional who analyzes his current form in this episode. Born in Germany on May 27, 2001, Freddy Schott showed exceptional talent at an early age. He represents the Düsseldorf Golf Club and achieved handicap 0 and better as a young teenager. He decided to turn professional at the age of 19 - a bold and quick decision that led to his first Challenge Tour victory in 2022. Fun fact: Freddy is close friends with golf icon Marcel Siem and played with him for the first time at Düsseldorf GC at the age of 15. schott will be playing his third full season on the DP World Tour in 2025 .
