Mizuno is breaking with tradition: after years in the shadow of its own world-class irons, the Japanese company with a long tradition is presenting a metalwood series for 2026 that breaks completely new ground in terms of technology. With the Mizuno JPX One Driver and a world first called Nanoalloy, the brand is moving from its niche right into the spotlight of the international speed discussion.
For a long time, the unwritten law at Mizuno was: "Irons first". Drivers were often perceived by many golfers as solid, but rarely as ground-breaking. But for the 2026 season, Mizuno has pressed the reset button. The previous name "ST" (Speed Technology) is giving way to the globally established JPX line, and with it comes a technology that Chris Voshall, Director of Golf at Mizuno, describes as the start of something completely new: "It didn't feel like a mere evolution," says Voshall.
The centerpiece of the Mizuno JPX One Driver is the striking, shimmering blue face. But be careful: this is not a classic carbon construction. Instead, Mizuno relies on a one millimeter thick layer of Nanoalloy, a high-performance polymer from the specialist Toray.
The special physical feature of this material is its responsiveness to high loads. At rest, it appears stable and firm, but it becomes highly elastic under the enormous force of the impact at the moment of impact. This effect ensures that the clubface draws less deformation energy from the golf balls. As the ball is therefore less squashed, more energy is retained for the flight - the result is a noticeable increase in ball speed across the entire clubface.
Thanks to the stabilizing effect of the Nanoalloy structure, Mizuno was able to design the underlying forged titanium base of the clubface to be around 10% thinner than the previous ST-Max model. In combination with the newly developed CORTECH structure, the so-called CORArea - the area in which maximum ball speeds are achieved - is increased by an impressive 15%. For players, this means that even off-center hits lose significantly less distance and precision.
Mizuno is launching the technology in two different geometries to optimally support both ambitious amateur golfers and professionals on Tour.
This model is the stability anchor of the series. With a larger "footprint" (the optical extension of the head to the rear), it offers the highest moment of inertia (MOI). A slight Draw bias also helps players to square the clubface more easily at impact, which massively increases consistency off the Tee.
The Select version is aimed at players with high swing speeds who value maneuverability (workability). The head has a more compact design, a classic pear profile and a deeper clubface. With a neutral to Fade-oriented weighting, this model prevents the dreaded "hook" to the left and enables targeted trajectory control.

With the Mizuno JPX One Driver, the brand is showing the courage to be technologically independent. Instead of simply following established market trends, the expertise from polymer research is used to create a distinctive Performance profile. The combination of the forgiveness of the JPX family and the new Nano technology makes this Driver a serious option for anyone looking for more speed in the 2026 season without sacrificing the precise feedback they are used to from Mizuno.
The Mizuno JPX One Driver will be available for pre-order at All4Golf from January 12, 2026 and in stores for golfers from January 22, 2026.
