Low scores, numerous Tour pros and exciting duels in the chasing positions: The second match day of the German Golf League (DGL) presented by ALL4GOLF offers fans and spectators top-class sport at close quarters. In the 1st Bundesliga South, there is another double victory for GC St. Leon-Rot in Augsburg and Fürth. The men from Hubbelrath and the women from Hamburg once again dominated the northern leagues in Hösel.
Two match days are over in the 2026 DGL season. In the Women's 1st Bundesliga South, champions St. Leon-Rot are at the top - with the maximum haul of ten points. SLR coach Sebastian Buhl could actually be very happy. But he wasn't really happy, because round two at 1. GC Fürth wasn't quite to the taste of the coach, who is used to success. "We struggled to find our way into the weekend. We weren't in the moment in some places. But it's precisely in difficult situations that you can see what Wood you're made of. On Sunday, we kept our focus despite the interruption caused by a thunderstorm," said Buhl. In the end, his team won with +9. In the thrilling duel for second place, Stuttgart prevailed against the women from Munich GC, who tied for second place, thanks to the better stroke score (both +14). "We are satisfied with second place and will prepare intensively for the home match day, when Yana Beeli and Anna-Lena Kasperek will rejoin the squad," explained Stuttgart coach Heiko Burkhard. Next match day: June 13/14 at Stuttgart's GC Solitude.

The women from the Hamburg GC extend their lead in the table in the 1st Bundesliga Nord. The Falkensteiner women, for whom Tour pro Christin Eisenbeiß was at the start, won the second matchday in Hösel with +1 ahead of hosts Hösel (+17) and Hubbelrath (+30). "That was a strong, cohesive team performance at a very high level. Everyone played their part in this victory, which we are naturally very happy about. We can continue like this," explained Hamburg coach Luis Schmid. However, Hösel can also be highly satisfied with their performance at home: "We're super happy with second place. That whets our appetite for more; we're fired up for the next few matchdays," said Hösel's captain Isabel Gadea. The table situation in the northern section could hardly be more exciting, as three teams - Hösel, Berlin-Wannsee and Hubbelrath - follow behind league leaders Hamburg with six points each. Promoted team Düsseldorf has the chance to close the gap to the safety margin at home in two weeks' time. Next match day: June 13/14 at the Düsseldorf GC.
Hubbelrath (-16) ahead of Wannsee (-8) and Hamburg (Even) - the second match day in Hösel in the men's 1st Bundesliga North ended in a similar fashion to the first round two weeks earlier. DGL record champions Hubbelrath rocked home their lead from Saturday (singles and foursomes). "It was close again at times, but the boys did a great job," said Alexander Schmitt. Hubbelrath's coach is happy that his team has the maximum score of ten points after two rounds. Tom Haberer's 65 (-6) on Saturday carried the title contenders. Hösel's Tour pro Jannik de Bruyn also had a 65 on his card on Sunday. However, the crowd favorite had to settle for fourth place (+8) with the host team in front of numerous spectators, ahead of promoted Berlin GC Stolper Heide. "That still wasn't what we wanted, but my boys played incredibly well in the final round. That gives us a good feeling for the rest of the season," said Hösel coach Dawie Stander. Next match day: June 13/14 at GC Stolper Heide in Berlin.

The men from St. Leon-Rot once again took the day's victory on the second match day of the 1st Bundesliga South at GC Augsburg with a total of -30 ahead of Frankfurt GC (-8) and Munich GC (-5). SLR coach Marco Schmuck praised the entire team: "That was a very cohesive team performance despite the interruption due to a thunderstorm. The direction is right," said Schmuck, who also praised the entire SLR staff, from the physio to the captain and assistant coach, for their "outstanding work". The men from the Frankfurt GC, who finished second ahead of Munich, also want to make it to the Final Four (August 1-2, GC München-Riedhof). "We achieved our goal for the day, are happy with the outcome of the match day in Augsburg and are looking forward to round three," announced Frankfurt coach Jan Pelz. The fact that hosts Augsburg (+15) finished ahead of Habsberg (+20) this time was mainly due to the Swabians' two top players: Noah-Elia Auner played a 66 (-7) in his singles on Sunday, Tour pro Philipp Macionga contributed a 68 (-5). Next match day: June 13/14 at GC Am Habsberg.
After five match days in the 1st Bundesliga North and South, the two best teams in each league will qualify for the Final Four, in which the 2026 German Team Champions will be determined in match play mode on August 1-2 at GC München-Riedhof. Spectators are welcome at all venues and admission is free.
