The 79th German Open Age Group Championships (AK Open) ended on August 31, 2025 with great success at the excellently prepared Golf Club Trier. The finalists fought a real neck-and-neck race, with Christin Eisenbeiß (Hamburg GC) and Nils-Levi Bock (GC St. Leon-Rot) ultimately securing the coveted national championship titles.
Christin Eisenbeiß played with composure for long stretches - until an unusual moment caused hilarity: her tee shot landed on a cart parked on the edge of the fairway and came to a halt in the storage area. The cart remained undamaged and a free drop resolved the situation in accordance with the rules. With calm concentration and the support of her caddie, she kept her nerve: "Sirah Steinhoff as caddie made sure that I stayed calm and the mood was good. That's all I need to be able to perform properly. I just tried to take care of my score and my game. That's how I managed to achieve my goals at the end of the day," said Eisenbeiß. She is now looking confidently to the LPGA Tour Q-School in Orlando - this tournament was her ideal preparation.
Behind the new German champion, Emily Krause (G&LC Berlin-Wannsee) secured second place with a strong performance. Yoo Jin Bae (GC St. Leon-Rot) completed the podium in third place.
In the men's competition, Nils-Levi Bock was relieved and overjoyed: after several close finishes in the past, he finally managed to win - with a two-stroke lead over the chasing pack. Tim Brohl (GC Rhein-Sieg) also impressed and took second place. Leonhard Studzinski (GC Hannover) put in a strong comeback at the end and secured third place.
DGV national coach Pascal Proske watched these German Championships from the first to the last minute and gathered a lot of impressions: "Overall, I think it was a very, very successful German Championship. I also think that the right players won. Christin Eisenbeiß is now about to start her professional career. It's really cool that she's now been able to confirm the whole thing once again in the amateur sector and use the tournament as a nice springboard to start her professional career with a good feeling." The national coach also had words of praise for Nils-Levi Bock's title win: "It's all the better for Nils-Levi that he was able to win this title for himself and also get confirmation that he can also win bigger tournaments with good competition instead of just playing at the front. I'm also very happy about the other participants. I saw a lot of good rounds, a lot of good scores, good golf. This is a good golf course with good greens. It was very impressive that the golf club was able to provide so many helpers. I think we can be proud that there are golf clubs in Germany that have so much motivation and passion among their members to watch the players with curiosity. You could feel that they are proud to have this tournament on their course. The GC Trier was a great venue, it was a fantastic event! Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up!"
