One is the tennis sensation of recent years, the other is best known as Spiderman from the movies: Carlos Alcaraz and Tom Holland share a passion for golf. On the sidelines of the Grand Slam tournament in Wimbledon, the two have now arranged to play a round of golf together. Even if the "date" has only been arranged without obligation, a match between "Carlitos" and Spiderman could soon be on the cards.
Sports fan Holland was also a guest at the Spaniard's training session on the "Holy Lawn" at Church Road on Tuesday and introduced himself to Alcaraz. The two-time Wimbledon winner wasted no time in expressing his respect for the Englishman's "beautiful golf swing". Holland immediately suggested a round together. Alcaraz is happy to take part, he replies.

Both are passionate golfers who play for scratch. Holland competed in the 2024 BMW PGA Championship ProAm at Wentworth with Tommy Fleetwood, among others. Alcaraz took time out before the tournament at Wimbledon, where he is the defending champion, to play golf with Andy Murray, also a two-time Wimbledon winner. He later reported that the Scot had beaten him. Murray described the victory on the golf course as the equivalent of an unchallenged "6:2 6:2" on the tennis court. However, according to the 22-year-old Spaniard, the overall balance is even. A few days after the defeat against Murray, he had evened the score, said Alcaraz.
