The 2027 BMW International Open will take place earlier than usual. Anyone who had already firmly scheduled Germany’s most prestigious golf tournament into their plans should update their calendar: The 38th edition will no longer take place in July, but in May—and promises more excitement than ever after one of the most dramatic final days in the tournament’s history.
Here you’ll find the final leaderboard for the 2026 BMW International Open.
Officially confirmed: The 2027 BMW International Open will be held from May 26 to 30, 2027, at the Munich Eichenried Golf Club. The BMW Group announced this in a press release published while the final day of the 37th edition was still underway.
The reason for the date change is a revision to the DP World Tour’s schedule. The venue, however, remains the same: the Munich Eichenried Golf Club, one of Germany’s best-known and most popular tournament venues, will once again welcome world-class pros in 2027 in northern Munich. For fans, the new date means planning earlier in the year, submitting vacation requests sooner—and looking forward to golf in spring-like weather.
Anyone who wants to understand just how great the anticipation for the 2027 BMW International Open already is should take a look back at the final Sunday of 2026. The 37th edition of the tournament delivered one of the most spectacular finishes in the event’s entire history.
With two holes to go, South African rookie Michael Hollick was still three strokes behind his compatriot Hennie du Plessis. What followed was a true golfing fairy tale: a Birdie on the 17th, a sensational Eagle on the 18th—and Hollick had turned the tournament around at the very last second. With a total score of 18 under Par (270 strokes), the 39-year-old secured his first title on the DP World Tour and a winner’s check for 445,468 euros.
Du Plessis, who had been on course for victory for much of the tournament and posted the best round of the day, had to settle for second place. Bernd Wiesberger of Austria rounded out the podium in third place. The top German finisher was Thomas Rosenmüller of Munich, who once again had the home crowd cheering with a strong sixth-place finish and an Eagle of his own on the 18th hole in the final round.
The total prize money for the 2026 BMW International Open amounted to 3,000,000 US dollars—a new record in the tournament’s history.

Michael Hollick, the defending champion, is coming to Eichenried—a player who thrilled the golfing world with his Eagle finish and who will be eager to defend his title. At the same time, du Plessis, who fell so short in 2026, is likely to be seeking revenge.
The move to May brings not only a new season but also a new atmosphere: fresher greens, different lighting conditions, and potentially cooler and more pleasant conditions for players and spectators alike. For golf fans who want to experience the tournament live, it’s worth marking your calendars now for May 26–30, 2027.
