LIV Golf: Legion XIII wins after playoff thriller against Crushers GC
Jon Rahm's team triumphs at the LIV Golf Team Championship in Michigan. Legion XIII is crowned champion with a dramatic playoff victory.
Captain Jon Rahm's Legion XIII team won the LIV Golf Team Championship in Michigan with a dramatic play-off victory. In a thrilling final, Rahm and his team prevailed against the strong Crushers GC team led by Bryson DeChambeau.
Legion XIII sweeps all LIV Golf titles
After both teams finished the 18 holes of the final with 19 under Par each, the decision had to be made in a sudden-death playoff. Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton competed for Legion XIII, while Bryson DeChambeau opted for Paul Casey as his partner. It remained exciting right from the first extra hole when both Hatton and DeChambeau played a Birdie. On the second playoff hole, however, birdies from Rahm and Hatton secured victory for Legion XIII, while the Crushers GC team came up short with a par.
The final was characterized by outstanding individual performances. Bryson DeChambeau played the best round of the day with a 62. On the winning team side, young Caleb Surratt shone with a 64, supported by rounds of 65 from Jon Rahm and Tom McKibbin and a 66 from Tyrrell Hatton.
The Team Championship victory caps an already dominant season for Legion XIII, with Jon Rahm winning the overall LIV Golf League individual championship just last week and his team being the most successful of the season with four tournament wins. For their triumph, each member of Legion XIII received 1.4 million dollars in prize money from the 50 million dollar total prize pool. The runners-up of the Crushers GC each received 800,000 dollars.

Kaymer's Cleeks finish the season in 12th place
The season ended in a disappointing twelfth place for Team Cleeks GC led by German captain Martin Kaymer. In the quarter-finals of the Team Championship, the Cleeks were narrowly defeated by the eventual winners of Legion XIII, even though Adrian Meronk won his individual match against Jon Rahm. In the rest of the tournament, which was played for the final places, Kaymer's team was initially defeated by Fireballs GC. In the final, Cleeks GC only managed to finish last in the final field with a total score of one stroke over Par.
