After 539 days without a single win, Jon Rahm is back on the throne. With an impressive final round at the LIV Golf Event in Hong Kong, the Spaniard secured the title, ending a streak that lasted an unusually long time for a player of his class. At the same time, the 4Aces GC team celebrated a historic victory.
It was a victory that was not only convincing in terms of play, but above all released mental blocks. After narrowly missing out on victory in the previous two tournaments of the season, Jon Rahm left no room for doubt on the challenging course at the Hong Kong Golf Club. With a flawless performance on the final Sunday - a round of 64 (-6) - the Legion XIII captain catapulted himself to a total of 23 strokes under par.

The starting position before the final day was tight: Rahm, Thomas Detry and Harold Varner III were tied going into the decider. But while the competition struggled under the pressure of the final round, Rahm stuck to his strategy. "I tried to stay very patient and concentrate on every shot, knowing that I was doing everything right," explained the 31-year-old after his success.
Thomas Detry ended up in second place (-20). Although the Belgian was able to impress with a solid round of 67, he was unable to match the consistency of his Spanish opponent. Third place went to Detry's compatriot Thomas Pieters (-19), who was also in strong form.
In sporting terms, the tournament was held under a special auspices: At the beginning of the week, several LIV pros, including Thomas Detry, were stranded in the Middle East due to conflicts. Jon Rahm showed foresight and organizational talent in this situation: he chartered a private jet to bring the affected players safely to Hong Kong. A story that added a human touch to what was already a prestigious victory. Rahm himself was visibly moved: "This victory just feels like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders."
While Rahm celebrated the individual title, there was another comeback to celebrate in the team standings. The 4Aces GC, led by Dustin Johnson, won a team tournament for the first time in 974 days. With a cohesive team performance on Sunday (-16 in the final round), the team distanced the competition around Smash GC by six strokes.
"Finally getting another win makes me very proud of the boys," commented Johnson. The team victory underlines the new stability of the 4Aces, who have clearly announced their ambitions for the rest of the season with the additions of Thomas Detry and Anthony Kim and the consistency of Pieters.
