Cobra Golf is breaking with Traditions: With the introduction of the new 3DP MB and 3DP X models, the California-based innovation powerhouse is expanding its family of 3D-printed clubs. This makes the company the first manufacturer to make the benefits of additive manufacturing accessible to the broad spectrum of golfers—from Tour pros to recreational players.
For decades, the golf world faced an unsolvable dilemma: Either you play a slim, responsive Blade (muscle-back) and accept the high price of off-center hits—or you opt for bulky “game improvement” Irons for greater consistency. The new Cobra 3DP irons resolve this contradiction with state-of-the-art technology.
At the heart of the new series is the so-called DMLS process (Direct Metal Laser Sintering). In this process, 316L stainless steel in powder form is fused layer by layer using a laser. This creates an internal lattice structure that would be physically impossible to achieve through traditional forging or casting.
Thanks to this lattice, Cobra achieves massive weight savings in the center of the clubhead. This “free” weight is strategically redistributed to the periphery (heel and toe) in the form of heavy tungsten inserts. The result: a club that looks like a classic Iron from the outside but offers the forgiveness of a significantly larger model at impact. In addition, the lattice acts as an acoustic filter that dampens vibrations and mimics the coveted “soft” feel of a forged Iron.
With the expansion of the line, Cobra now offers the right setup for every skill level. While the familiar 3DP Tour caters to mid-handicap players, the new additions cover the extremes.
| Feature | Cobra 3DP MB | Cobra 3DP Tour | Cobra 3DP X |
|---|---|---|---|
| Target Audience | Tour pros and low-handicap players | Ambitious amateurs | Mid- to high-handicap players |
| Recommended Handicap | 0–10 | 0 – 15 | 10 – 25+ |
| Profile | Compact Blade, thin topline | Classic players' iron | Larger game-improvement profile |
| Loft (7-iron) | 34° (Traditional) | 32° (modern) | 29° (Distance-oriented) |
| Main Advantage | Maximum control and workability | Balance of precision and forgiveness | Maximum launch and forgiveness |
The 3DP MB deserves special attention. It’s based directly on the prototypes that PGA star Max Homa has had in his bag since 2025. Homa requested an even thinner topline and specific adjustments to the offset. Thanks to 3D printing technology, Cobra was able to implement these changes within a few weeks—a process that would have taken months using conventional molds. This makes the MB arguably the most forgiving Blade ever to hit the market.
A key advantage for customers of the Cobra 3DP irons: Since lofts and lie angles have been standardized across the entire series, the models can be combined perfectly. Experts recommend, for example, choosing the long irons (3–5) from the forgiving X Series and switching to the controlled MB model for precise shots onto the green (8–GW).
The future of golf comes at a price: A 6-piece set of the new Cobra 3DP irons will be available in stores for approximately 2,000 euros. Sales at All4Golf begin on January 9, 2026. For the first time, all models will be available for both right- and left-handed players from the start.
