Scottie Scheffler won his fourth major title in impressive style at the 153rd Open Championship and is now just one US Open victory away from a career Grand Slam. The way he has performed over the past two years, it should only be a matter of time before he wins the remaining title. Especially as he displays a consistency and brilliance in all areas of the game that reminds many observers of Tiger Woods' best years.
Consistency can also be seen in the 29-year-old's bag. The clubs with which he won the British Open have been in his bag for a long time. Why should you change anything when you regularly get the better of the competition? In Portrush, Northern Ireland, Scheffler was particularly outstanding on the greens. The Texan only missed a single three putt over the four days of the tournament - nobody was better. Compared to the field, Scheffler was eight strokes better than average in Putt alone ("Strokes Gained Putting"). His TaylorMade Spider Tour X therefore played a big part in the victory.

TaylorMade is the dominant brand in the bag of the world number one. Apart from his Wedges and two Irons, he exclusively uses the material from Carlsbad, California. Neither his Driver nor the Wood 3 are the latest models. Scheffler still uses the tried-and-tested TaylorMade Qi10, which has since been replaced by the Qi35 family.
His Irons come from TaylorMade's P-Series. While these golf clubs are available for all levels of play, Scheffler uses the model for Tour players, the TaylorMade P7TW, where the abbreviation "TW" stands for Tiger Woods. The irons were developed with and for the 15-time major winner and superstar. The two-time Masters winner only relies on the ZU85 series from Srixon for his longest irons (3 and 4). Newer variants are also available for his Vokey SM8 wedges, but Scheffler swears by his tried-and-tested set-up.
