Anyone who plays regularly knows the question: should golf trousers be as "technical" as possible - or should they be suitable for everyday use so that they also work off the course? Adidas has both in its Ultimate365 range. We present two men's models that appear similar at first glance (regular fit, stretch, water-repellent finish), but differ significantly in terms of cut, material and functional package: the Ultimate365 Modern and the Ultimate365 5-Pocket.
The models bear the name "Ultimate365" - the addition indicates that they are designed for year-round use. Both Trousers combine robust twill fabrics with stretch and water-repellent finishes so that comfort is not immediately compromised even in changeable conditions (morning dew, brief drizzle).
The Ultimate365 Modern is made from a hard-wearing stretch twill. adidas explicitly mentions four-way stretch, which is particularly relevant for movements with large hip rotation - for example on the downswing or when reading the putting line while squatting. The list of features also mentions breathability and moisture management (moisture-wicking).
The equipment includes a water-repellent coating. In addition, adidas emphasizes UV protection (UPF 50+) - a point that can play a role on sunny tournament days or during long training sessions on open courts.
The tapered legs are striking and are designed to ensure that the trousers sit more "smoothly" and are less distracting when walking and swinging. An exposed elastic band at the back hem is also mentioned as a detail. The model is labeled adidas Primegreen and is made predominantly from recycled polyester.
The Ultimate365 5-Pocket is made from an elastic nylon/polyamide twill fabric. The description clearly focuses on the practical benefits: the Trousers should be light and stretchy and thus remain comfortable all day long. Unlike the Modern model, breathability or moisture wicking are not explicitly mentioned; the focus is more on robustness and freedom of movement thanks to stretch.
A water-repellent DWR finish is specified for wet conditions. According to the description, this is intended to help in light rain and morning dew - in other words, in situations where you don't want to reach for rain trousers straight away but still want to stay dry.
The central feature is the 5-pocket layout, which is more familiar from jeans. This makes the trousers deliberately less "classic golf-specific" and, depending on the dress code, can also be worn off the course. adidas claims that the trousers are made with at least 70% recycled and renewable materials. The material also contains recycled polyamide.

In its description, the Ultimate365 Modern is aimed more at golfers who are looking for a clearly defined functional package - including UV protection and information on breathability and moisture wicking. The tapered cut also speaks more for a sporty, tidy look.
The Ultimate365 5-Pocket, on the other hand, should appeal to those who like the 5-pocket style and are looking for trousers that work on the court but look closer to casual chinos/jeans. The DWR finish is classified as practical weather protection for "minor" wet situations.
Both Trousers are positioned as regular-fit models with stretch and a water-repellent finish. The difference lies mainly in the focus: the Ultimate365 Modern has more explicitly named "golf tech" features (UPF 50+, moisture management, 4-way stretch and tapered leg), while the Ultimate365 5-Pocket is defined by material (nylon/polyamide twill), 5-pocket design and a clear everyday reference.
