Just in time for the start of the season, Scottish technology specialist Shot Scope is launching a new highlight for all golfers who value first-class visualization and precise data. The H50 handheld GPS will be released on March 16. We took a look at the details of the new flagship, which promises to be the ultimate caddie in your pocket.
The most striking feature of the Shot Scope H50 is undoubtedly the 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. While many GPS devices on the market rely on functional but often pale screens, the H50 offers smartphone-level clarity and color brilliance. This ensures that maps and distances remain clearly legible even in direct sunlight. Additional flexibility is provided by the user interface, which can be used in both portrait and landscape format. Thanks to IPX7 certification, the device is waterproof and therefore a reliable companion in any weather.
State-of-the-art technology is at work under the hood: The H50 uses dual-band GPS (L1/L5), which enables a faster connection to satellites and even greater accuracy when determining your position. With over 42,000 pre-installed golf courses worldwide - the equivalent of more than 600,000 holes - you are equipped for almost every tee shot.
The device not only provides the classic distances to the start, middle and end of the green. Thanks to interactive maps, golfers can tap any point on the Fairway, obstacles or layup zones to obtain exact distances. A special highlight for hilly courses are the "Plays Like" distances, which automatically calculate differences in altitude into the distance information, making club selection much easier.
The detailed Green Contour Maps are a real unique selling point in this price range. The H50 shows the player the exact slopes and undulations of the green. This information is worth its weight in gold when it comes to placing approach shots more precisely in the right zones and reducing the number of putts.

Shot Scope remains true to its line and offers extensive analysis functions:
For convenience on the course, an extra-strong magnet has been integrated into the housing, allowing the H50 to be securely attached to the metal frame of a cart or trolley. With a runtime of over 15 hours, the battery is large enough to easily last two to three rounds before it needs to be recharged via USB-C.
The Shot Scope H50 will be launched on the market at a recommended retail price of €269.99. What is particularly pleasing is that, as with all of the manufacturer's products, there are no subscription or update fees. Anyone looking for a clear, technically advanced GPS handheld that also provides in-depth statistics should mark March 16 in red in their calendar.
