Minjee Lee has won her third Major title overall at the Women's PGA Championship at PGA Frisco, Dallas. The Australian won with a total score of four under Par, three strokes ahead of Chanettee Wannas (Thailand) and Auston Kim (USA). All the other players in the field at the third women's major of the year remained over par. With hard greens and a lot of wind, Lee, who recorded a 74 in the final round, needed strong nerves to withstand the emerging competition. She received 1.8 million dollars for her victory.
"It feels incredible," Lee admitted at the presentation ceremony and added: "I think I really deserve the win. I've put in a lot of hard work. I feel very good." Her compatriot and friend Hannah Green emphasized that the Women's PGA Championship had been more of a mental challenge than a physical one and that Lee had passed it with flying colors. Lee's putting in particular was "incredible".

With her best tournament round at the PGA Championship, Germany's best female golfer improved to a tie for twelfth place on Sunday. Esther Henseleit played an even-par round (72) at the end of the event and ended up with a total score of five over par. The Hamburg native has been in strong form for weeks and has always finished among the top 30 in her last seven starts. The 26-year-old is therefore well prepared for her trip home. The Amundi German Masters starts on June 26 at the Green Eagle Golf Courses. Naturally, Henseleit will be competing on the doorstep of her home town. She is one of the favorites at the Ladies European Tour event, not least due to her strong results in the previous weeks.
