Bro Hof Slott Castle Course – the attractive counterpart to the Stadium Course

While the world-famous Stadium Course at Bro Hof Slott is known for its extremely long championship layout, the Castle Course offers a refreshingly relaxed—yet by no means easy—alternative. With a total length ranging from 4,218 to 6,129 meters across four tees, the par-72 course is a good 500 meters shorter than its big brother when played from the back tees, and many golfers prefer to walk it.

In addition to the dense Swedish tree cover and narrower Fairways, expansive waste areas with beige-colored sand—in a charming contrast to the gleaming white Bunkers—define the landscape. A truly unique feature is the unusual hole layout: on both the front nine and the back nine, players will find exactly three par-3, three par-4, and three par-5 holes.

Front Nine: Rocks, Giant Waste Areas, and the Lay-Up Decision on the 9th

The opening hole immediately calls for strategic skill: The first hole, a Par-5 up to 563 meters long, runs slightly uphill and bends to the right just before the green. The fact that the course remains challenging even with sparse use of water becomes clear by the sixth hole at the latest: This par-4, up to 414 meters long, is considered the toughest hole of the round and combines a steady climb with a large waste area. Anyone who plays their approach shot too short risks the ball bouncing unpredictably off the rocks in front of the green.

The first half of the round ends at a 496-meter-long par-5, where a stream running across the fairway in the final third of the hole requires a bold lay-up decision before reaching the halfway house.

Back Nine: Tactical Finesse and the Lake-Side Finale Below the Castle

Refreshed and re-energized, the Back Nine begins on Hole 10 with the course’s longest hole, a 545-meter Par-5. After two easy par-3 holes that offer the best scoring opportunities, hole 13 once again demands full concentration: On this narrow, uphill par-5, a combination of a waste area and rocks about 150 meters in front of the offset green makes the approach shot difficult.

The final two holes form the visual highlight below the imposing castle and have been spectacularly laid out around a large lake. On hole 17, a Par-3 up to 166 meters long, water almost completely surrounds the green on the right side, so the tee shot usually has to be hit directly over the lake. The final par-4 on hole 18 runs as a dogleg to the right along the shore and requires precise alignment from the tee toward the left fairway bunkers.
