Front Nine: Strategy Amid Trees, Bunkers, and Ponds

The course layout is divided into two sections, each with its own character. The first nine holes demand strategic skill above all else, as they wind through narrow terrain densely lined with Mediterranean vegetation. The round begins with a gentle start on a straight, slightly uphill Par-4 that’s no more than 269 meters long. But precision becomes crucial as early as the following holes.

On the short par-3 2nd hole, terrain sloping to the right complicates club selection, while out-of-bounds lies in wait on the sides of holes 3 and 4. The 5th hole, a par-5 up to 411 meters long, is considered the most difficult hole on the course. This left-dogleg hole requires a smart tee shot placed near the trees on the left to reach the green and avoid the green bunker there, with its high edge made of railroad ties. After a downhill Par-3 on hole 6 with an island-style green, holes 7 through 9 wind past treacherous water hazards and ponds.

Back Nine: Open Holes and a Challenging Finish

In contrast, the back nine holes are noticeably more open. Here, strategically placed water hazards, Bunkeres, and pronounced topography dictate the tactical play. After two uphill par-4 holes, the twelfth hole—a par-3 up to 189 meters long alongside a pond—introduces water hazards into play. The following 507-meter Par-5 once again demands full concentration, as water on the right comes into play about 100 meters before the green, and tall trees on the left can block the direct path.

A striking downhill Par-3 on the 15th hole, defended by four Bunkers, kicks off the challenging finale. On the penultimate hole, a short, uphill par-4 requires players to navigate a Fairway that slopes to the right and a central Bunker in front of the plateau green. The crowning finale is the 18th hole, a 498-meter-long par-5 that doglegs to the left. After a blind tee shot through a narrow fairway, the ball rolls downhill over a hilltop before the final climb leads to a forward-sloping green protected by three Bunkers, where excellent distance control determines the score.
