Your grip plays a key role in every swing, and in wet and cold conditions, it can quickly become unreliable. The right golf glove helps you maintain a secure grip on the club even when your hands are cold or the rain softens the leather. The material plays a major role here: leather, microfiber, suede, and synthetic grip surfaces all behave differently when wet. The following eight models demonstrate just how diverse the designs are.
Designed specifically for wet rounds, Wilson Staff’s rain gloves are available in men’s and women’s fits. They feature a microfiber construction that, according to the manufacturer, provides a non-slip grip in wet conditions, and include a Velcro closure for a custom fit. The Mizuno Rainfit comes in pairs and is made of synthetic suede, which is designed to provide better grip in wet conditions. Tapered cuffs are intended to prevent water from seeping in. It’s best to air-dry these gloves.

The FootJoy Raingrip for women combines a Sure-Grip AutoSuede palm with a suede lining. QuikDry knit fabric on the fingers and back of the hand is designed to dry quickly and remain breathable. The angled ComfortTab Velcro closure ensures a precise fit. A Ballmarker snap button and a side Tee holder make it easier to stay organized during your round.
Leather gloves offer a particularly direct grip. The Beaver All Weather is available in men’s and women’s versions and is made of AAA Cabretta leather. According to the manufacturer, a rain-resistant technology ensures consistent grip, and the leather molds to the hand over time. The women’s version also features breathable ventilation between and on the fingers.
The Srixon All-Weather glove combines synthetic material with Cabretta leather on the inside of the thumb and parts of the palm. Perforations on the backs of the fingers and elastic inserts between the fingers are designed to improve breathability and flexibility. An elastic band at the wrist and the adjustable Velcro closure ensure a secure fit. The Zoom Weather, featuring the ALL4GOLF logo on the back of the hand, features a honeycomb design that, according to the manufacturer, enhances grip in wet and cold conditions. It is available in one size.

Gloves wear out over time. It’s therefore worth having a spare pair on hand. Also, be sure to follow the care instructions for each model, as several manufacturers recommend hand washing and air drying.
