With his fourth major victory, Scottie Scheffler has made himself Player of the Year at the 2025 Open Championship. This is the first time he has managed to win two major tournaments in one year (he won the PGA Championship in May). Of course, this also takes him back to astronomical heights in terms of prize money. There was 3.1 million dollars for the victory in Portrush, Ireland alone. The 29-year-old's total prize money this year already amounts to 19.2 million dollars. And the season is far from over.

There were also decent earnings for the other top finishers at this Open Championship (or British Open). As in the previous year, a total of 17 million dollars was paid out again. Harris English in second place and Chris Gotterup (both USA) also received prize money of over one million dollars.
